From June 1st 2008, IATA's 100% e-ticketing mandate no
longer supports the settlement of paper tickets. As
a result, airlines must build individual direct e-ticketing
connections, connect to an Interline e-ticketing “HUB” such
as ID90 Technologies (ID90T), or be prepared to lose
off-line travel benefits for their employees.
To build direct connections for each airlines Interline
agreement requires additional modifications from their
current commercial Interline e-ticket connections. If you
multiply the industry average of $30,000 per direct connection,
by the number of interline agreements an airline has, the
cost can be enormous. It is this enormous cost, in addition
to the IT requirements, that are forcing many airlines
to reduce the number of Interline agreements they currently
offer their employees.
One connection to the ID90T e-ticketing Platform allows
each airline access to multiple airlines, even those not
connected to ID90T. For example, if Airline A wants to
Interline with Airline B who is not connected to the ID90T
e-ticketing Platform, ID90T can send a validated e-ticket
request to Airline A (or other service provider) in multiple
customized formats at no cost to the transporting airline
as highlighted below.
